This is where you'll find the active groups that make up the heart of Unbound. From movement and outdoor adventures to family gatherings and shared meals, these spaces are designed to bring people together in simple, meaningful ways.
A local marketplace rooted in creativity, craftsmanship, and connection.
Unbound in Town is our community marketplace. This is a space where local makers, artists, and small businesses can connect with the Unbound community through shared values of creativity, craftsmanship, and mindful living.
Through seasonal markets and our growing online market hub, Unbound in Town highlights vendors who are creating thoughtful, handmade, and community-centered goods and services. It's a place where neighbors can discover local talent, support small businesses, and build meaningful relationships with the people behind the products.
Our markets are designed to feel welcoming, collaborative, and rooted in community rather than competition. Vendors and visitors alike come together to share stories, showcase creativity, and support one another.

Shop Local. Sell, Shop, Support, Heal.
We are currently inviting local makers and small businesses to become part of the Unbound in Town vendor network.
For $1 per month, vendors can register as an active member of the Unbound in Town marketplace and have their business listed on our online market hub, making it easy for the community to discover and support local creators.
Vendors will also receive notifications and opportunities to participate in upcoming Unbound in Town markets and events.
Community members can also sign up to receive updates about upcoming Unbound in Town markets, featured vendors, and special events.
Joining the list helps support local makers while staying connected to the growing Unbound marketplace.
One of the ways we encourage community support is through the Unbound Discount. Participating vendors may choose to offer a small exclusive discount to fellow members of the Unbound community. This creates a simple way for the community to support local makers while vendors gain visibility and new customers.
It's a small gesture that helps strengthen the local ecosystem we are building together.
Our weekly somatic dance classes invite you to reconnect with your body through intuitive movement, music, and guided awareness. These sessions are designed to help release tension, improve body awareness, and cultivate a deeper connection between mind and movement.
Classes are held at a beautiful local wellness studio and are open to all experience levels, no dance background required. Each gathering offers a welcoming space to move freely, explore sensation, and connect with others in the community.
Sign-up required
We also offer a free public community dance session in local Phoenix parks, giving everyone an opportunity to experience somatic movement in an open outdoor setting. Both offerings are beginner-friendly and focus on exploration rather than performance.
Somatic movement practices focus on cultivating awareness of the body from the inside out. Rather than following strict choreography, participants are guided to notice sensations, breath, posture, and natural movement patterns. This approach helps build a stronger mind-body connection while encouraging authentic expression and gentle physical release.
There are no steps to follow, just an invitation to let your body move and discover what it needs.
These classes are guided by Janis Rogers, founder of Unbound, whose approach to movement centers on awareness, expression, and connection with the body.
Rather than teaching strict choreography, Janis introduces simple movement prompts and flowing patterns that participants can explore in their own way. The goal is not to "get the steps right," but to allow the body to respond naturally to the music.
For many participants, it becomes a weekly reset for both mind and body and a place where authentic self-expression is always welcome.
Where movement, nature, and connection meet on common ground.
Our Common Ground Hiking Group meets once a month to explore the beautiful trails around Arizona while connecting with others in the Unbound community.
These hikes are designed to be relaxed, welcoming gatherings where we can enjoy fresh air, gentle movement, and meaningful conversation. It's a chance to step away from the noise of everyday life and spend time on the trail with friends, both old and new.
The name Common Ground reflects what these hikes are really about. No matter where we come from or what path we're on, we can always meet on common ground: walking together, sharing stories, and building connections in nature.
So far this group has been an incredible success. Every hike has brought new friendships, great conversations, and lots of laughter along the way.
Most of our hikes are moderate and accessible, unless otherwise specified. Expect Arizona terrain with some uphill and downhill walking, so come prepared with comfortable gym or hiking shoes. All ages welcome!
We also offer $5 snack packs at the beginning of each hike, which include two small bags of snacks and a juice box for a little extra fuel on the trail.
A basic first aid kit is always available during our hikes, though we hope it never needs to be used.
We love discovering new trails, so if you have a favorite hike you'd like to share with the group, please send your suggestions to feelunbound@gmail.com
Curiosity, creativity, and community for our smallest adventurers.
Squiggles & Giggles is our early childhood community group designed for little explorers ages 18 months to 4 years old and their caregivers.
This group meets one to two times per month for simple, joyful gatherings that encourage curiosity, creativity, and connection. Each event is gently guided and may include activities like music circles, nature exploration hikes, sensory play, and craft days — all designed to support early learning through play and movement.
The activities are inspired by prompts from the Squiggles & Giggles Early Learning Program, a developing Unbound curriculum that encourages children to explore the world through creativity, movement, and hands-on discovery.
These gatherings are designed to be relaxed and welcoming spaces where children can play, caregivers can connect, and families can enjoy meaningful time together in community.
Each event will have a simple theme or activity for the day, along with optional activity or snack packs available at the beginning of the gathering.
These small packs help support the event and may include:
Packs typically range from $5–$10 depending on the activity, and participation is always optional.
Squiggles & Giggles is still in its early stages, and we're excited to grow this branch of the Unbound community together.
As the group expands, we hope to welcome more family-focused gatherings and potentially support the development of additional youth and homeschooling groups for older children within the community.
Read stories that spark conversation, curiosity, and connection.
Unbound Book Clubs are spaces for community members to come together around books, ideas, and the conversations that grow from them. These gatherings create an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and explore themes that connect literature with everyday life.
Book clubs within the Unbound community are member-led, meaning anyone with a passion for reading and discussion can help start a group. Whether the focus is philosophy, fiction, personal growth, history, or something entirely unique, these clubs are meant to be welcoming spaces where people can share perspectives and build meaningful connections through conversation.
Our first active book club, ROTC (Reading Outside the Cell), is led by Jeremy, a community member passionate about exploring the ideas and perspectives that books bring into our lives.
ROTC focuses on thoughtful reading and open discussion about the themes that connect literature to personal growth, culture, and the human experience. Each meeting invites participants to explore a selected book together and reflect on the ideas, stories, and questions that emerge from it.
One of the goals of the Unbound community is to create spaces for people to share what they love. If you've ever wanted to start a book club but didn't know where to begin, we'd love to help you make it happen.
Through the Unbound online hub, community members can organize and host their own book clubs centered around topics and genres they're passionate about.
Sharing food, stories, and community around the table.
Our Community Potluck Dinners are simple monthly gatherings where neighbors come together to share a meal and spend time in good company.
Everyone is invited to bring a dish to share, whether it's a family recipe, a favorite comfort food, or something new you'd like the community to try. These evenings are a relaxed way to meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and enjoy the simple joy of eating together.
Food has always been one of the most meaningful ways to explore culture and connect with others. Through these potluck dinners, we hope to create a welcoming table where everyone has something to contribute and every meal becomes a chance to learn a little more about each other.
Over time, we hope these gatherings can also help support a larger vision for the community. As the Unbound network grows, these shared meals may evolve into future initiatives focused on community nourishment and food support, including the possibility of a local soup kitchen program.
For now, the focus is simple: bring a dish, share a meal, and enjoy good company.
A shared table has a way of turning strangers into neighbors.
